September 9-10  Advanced Movement Observation

·          Saturday 10-2 & 2-5, Sunday 10-2

·          Option A:  10 hours, core training only, CE hours available   Fee: $200/$150 w/student ID

·          Option B:  15 hours for alternate route credit*                Fee: $300/$250 w/student ID

 

This is part 2 of a 3 part course (45 hours) in Movement Observation. 

Part 1 covers introduction to Laban and the effort-shape 

system, proxemics, characteristics of healthy movement, postural alignment, and interactional communication. 

Part 2 covers advanced elements of effort-shape analysis, an introduction to the Movement Patterns Inventory, and 

psychodynamic and relational interpretations. 

Part 3 covers an introduction to Kestenberg Movement Analysis, and advanced applications of effort-shape analysis, 

Movement Patterns Inventory, and Kestenberg analysis to assessment and diagnosis. All readings and handouts are included. 



For alternate route students:  

To register, you need to have completed an introduction to movement observation (at least 15 hours) prior to taking this course.

Part 3 of this course will be offered in 2007, and will provide an additional 15 hours. Alternate route students 

must complete additional assignments and readings. 

If you are a new alternate route student, in order to register for alternate route credit, send a copy of your resume, transcipts, 

and a $25 application fee to the address below by August 25, 2006.  

If you are a returning alternate route student, send a nonrefundable deposit of $150 to the address below by August 25, 2006.

For Continuing Education Credit:

To register, you need to have completed an introduction to movement observation (at least 15 hours) prior to taking this course. 

To reserve your place, send a nonrefundable deposit of $100 to the address below by August 25, 2006. A continuing education 

certificate will be provided upon completion of the training.



All deposits and fees are nonrefundable unless the class is cancelled.
