Authentic Movement is an improvisational movement practice in which a
mover pays attention to bodily sensations or movement impulses.
Amplifying them and following them into spontaneous movement provides
access to the information they contain and offers a compelling
experience of the wisdom of the body-mind in action. This is done with
eyes closed and in the presence of an interested, benign witness.
Focusing offers a simple and profound way for the mover to find a
fresh understanding of his or her unfolding experience by tuning in to
an inner sense (referred to in focusing as a felt sense) and for the
witness to accompany this processs through careful listening.
Newcomers to Authentic Movement and/or Focusing and those experienced
with either practice are welcome.
