For those of us who believe in the power of organizing, Barbara 
Ehrenreich, author of Nickel and Dimed ( a must read) is forming an 
organization for independent , working and under or unemployed 
professionals (although the rest of us are welcome to join as well).  
It's a sort of open union which hopes to provides services (health 
care, legal, financial) and bring people together.  Since a lot of dmts 
fit into this category and since I think this is an important 
development for independent working professionals in the country today, 
I thought I'd pass the information along.  Check out
