Hello All,
I was just putting my sandals away for the winter. The same ones that I
wore on those sun kissed sidewalks in Long Beach. It was a delight to
feel the warmth of the sun, to witness giant palms growing and to hear
native Californian families talk among themselves. As wonderful as this
was, it does not hold a candle to the warmth, beauty, and validation
that I experienced from our conference activities and attendees. I
never felt like a fish out of water, like I feared, instead, I was
welcomed with giant open arms that pulled me to the core of what meaning
I craved. I adored reconnecting with old friends. I was exhilarated by
meeting new friends and making human connections with familiar names
from the list. A huge surprise was connecting with my undergraduate
dance peers who were there because they are dance educators. These are
people that I danced with, choreographed with and performed with for
years, and I hadn't seen them for 30 years! Every presentation I
attended was impressive, professionally presented, informative and
stimulating.
This was a rich, meaningful conference that was worth every penny, and
every effort to get to. Thank you soooo much to all who planned and
worked so hard to make this happen in the way that it did.
