It sound you have a wonderful conference. Very reach and you all learn.
How can we get to the new ideas you provide there? Are you going to have a
proceeding ?
Thank you to all who shared
My students are working now on the subject of touching in Dance Movement
Therapy . Is there anyone from the dance therapists who wrote about it?
We do have the article Legal and Ethical Issues of touch in Dance Movement
Therapy American Journal of Dance Therapy 1987, vol.10.41-53 and many
articles from the Body psychotherapy . But I wonder if we have talks on this
in writings . Thank You .

As someone who has been in the dance education and dance history world of
late, I will add my kudos to the organizers and say how deeply touched and
enriched I feel after spending such quality time with DMTs!
(Debbie, Arlynne, Sharon, Jody, Cathy, Suzi, Nancy, Meg, Susan, Paul, Emily,
Susan I., Stacey, Marylee, Rachel, Ellen, Elissa, Robin, and everyone
else--you each fed me!)
I did not get to very many sessions, but found the poster session wonderful,
the encounters amazing, the reunions healing, and the movement choir simply
lovely. (Marylee, you are just so wonderful!)
I would like to thank Ellen Yacoe for being my partner in presenting the
advocacy work we do and to encourage all of you to get involved with this at
the national, state or local levels. I know Ellen would agree that we can be
mutually supportive in these efforts and are willing to share what we know
at any time.
I'm sorry particularly that we did not get to do some sort of joint research
session with NDEO and ADTA, since both organizations are dealing with
similar questions about methodologies, funding, and directions. Maybe that
is something we can plan to do on an ad hoc basis. I would be happy to
faciltiate such a conversation, either online or in a mini-conference.
And to the Laban folks who came to the confab, thank you for your honesty
and commitment to this work, and let's keep talking and moving together!
Karen Bradley

Hello, all you amazing and fabulous dance therapists!
I would like to contribute a short expression of such a rich and delghtful
experience this past weekend at the conference.
There was one common denominator that stood out particularly for me this
year, and that was the beautiful and melodious laughter that permeated each
seminar I attended. Our work is so intense, and we work with such sadness,
despair and desperation, it was a delight to experience the strength and the
courage that makes dance therapists truly remarkable human being therapists.

Thank you,

Hi eveyone--
The conference this year was amazing! I feel completely re-fueled and
nurtured and supported. We have such an abundance of talent, community
empowerment, determination, know-how and passion about our work. It was
extremely inspiring to be part of it. I had some pivotal learning
experiences in seminars, benefited from networking synergy and danced over
the moon at the banquet. Being at the conference was a catalyst for my
career and my personal healing. Wow!
Plus serving on the board, which for me is a profound learning experience,
builds significant new skills for my professional portfolio and is
fulfilling teamwork, especially the rhythm & dance jam moments calling the
end of breaks.
I remember during my first ADTA conference many years ago I had the feeling
that you all are my TRIBE! Now the ADTA is my global village and it just
keeps getting better, especially since I am more able to receive support and
caring, due to my own personal recovery journey which is ongoing. I love
that my profession supports the development of my soul, the renovation of my
heart and the healthy vitality of my body, as well as keeping my brain
entranced with complexity, not to mention that all of it is a playground for
my creativity.
Bravo to everyone who worked so hard and had so much fun putting it all
together. I'm already looking forward to next year in New York City!
Kudos and many thank you's,
christine h.
