[Adta] DTR Private Practice Question

Dear Leslie B,
I am responding to your inquiry as Credentials Chair by referring to the DTR
Procedural Infromation and Requirement Guidelines. According to the
guidelines those seeking DTR credentialing must obtain their internship
hours in a clinical setting. A clinical setting that is team based with an
identified population determined by standard diagnostic procedures. In
addition to the supervision received at the clinical setting, Non Approved
and Alternate Route interns may also see a dance/movement therapy suprevisor
off sight in varity of formats described in the guidelines. As far as I am
aware there has never been an option for graduate or alternate route
students to utilize a private practice setting as an internship site when
seeking DTR credentialing. I hope this information is helpful as you
prepare the CA licensure bill. Best of luck, Beth

Beth Lucchi, ADTA Chair Credentials Committee
