I too want to thank Karen and Marylee for their vision and wonderful skill at bringing us together in dance. As Ellen so beautifully stated, the image of us dancing on the national mall, the capital on one end and the Washington monument on the other, with our saffron colored scarves, will stay with me for a long, long time. We moved from struggle ..... to personal reflection .... to harmony .... alone and in groups of two, four and twelve. It was a beautiful evening with a gentle breeze that helped to lift our spirits as well as our chiffon. The music Marylee chose supported us as well ... rich and varied selections... ending with a version of 'Give Peace a Chance' performed by Louie Armstrong .... Marylee so cleverly found a way to even weave in the Katrina anniversary. There were twelve of us dancing in total, but the dance therapists among us were: Marylee Hardenbergh, Karen Bradley, Ellen Yacoe, Naomi Nimm, Sean Favretto, Megan Corcoran and myself. It was an honor and a privilege to share in this dance experience. I am so proud to be a part of such a wonderful profession.
In Peace,
Jody (Wager)

Good morning,

A million thanks to Karen Bradley and Marylee Hardenbergh for organizing and directing a wonderful and powerful movement choir last night in Washington DC.
The themes woven into the dance centered on Gandhi's message of peace and of achieving it without violence. We moved with saffron colored silk scarves which added a regal feel and caught many an eye.
The choir ended with the group holding a large white chiffon fabric over our heads as we walked down the mall side by side, facing the Capital building and then we turned around and moved towards the Washington Monument.
Let the power of movement linger on the mall and positive energy reach out to our community.
Thank you to all those who participated.
Ellen Yacoe
