saw this message under judges, etc,

I hope that Mary is feeling better after Mia's piece from the other night.
I gathered she was going through the sickness or death of a parent herself.
When art reaches you that way, it truly is art.

I responded:

Regarding Mary's choreograpy. It looked like she used her own personal
experiences & transformed them into a work of art that probably touched most
of us who witnessed it. In my work as a dance therapist, I encourage the
women I work with to transform their feelings expressively, through their
movements, rather then to bury or numb them. We "process' these feelings so
that they can be understood both on a body level as well as a cognitive or
intellectual level. This is an important part of my philosophy as a dance
therapist that I believe promotes growth and insight.

Perhap Mary's choreography was reflective of meaningful events in her lfe
and because she was able to experience and understand them, she was able to
also transform them into a dance & communicate these feelings to those who
would perform it. Her expression touched a chord in herself, her dancers and
us.

Bravo Mary- I can only guess that this may be so & if it is, you allowed
your life feelings to be shared as an art & your ability to do this, is,
indeed an art.

Maybe others can also respond??
