involvement & additional "respondents"

Thank you Susan for your comments. I agree that the listserve provides us with a strong sense of connection and community that is all the more important due to the geographic space between most of us. As a relatively new DMT I always look forward to seeing faces of listserve members at conferences... placing a face with the name at long last.
As far as ideas for protocol... I'll throw out a couple. Anyone else want to suggest, please do.
It seems that members of each committee are responding to emails... officially or unofficially. As the internet becomes cemented in the fabric of our society, I believe the responsibilities of those attending to these matters will only increase. Perhaps within each committee there could be one designee whose responsibility it is to respond to the listserve messages related to that committee. As responding to listserve posts can be very time-consuming, maybe that "designee" can rotate within the committee, monthly for example - that way any particular committee member has a defined time frame as to when she or he needs to be truly listening to the listserve and time when he or she doesn't need to be attentive other than for own needs. (The committee members could decide amongst themselves rotation order and duration of shift since each committee probably has different number of members.)
Maybe within the PR committee there could be a team of listserve resondents for general discussion (that could rotate in a similar fashion) so that Susan (or whoever is designated) does not need to take on the enormity of that responsibility solo.
Just my two cents...
