Hi Robyn & Everyone

I would like to ditto Robyn's message re presenting at national &
international conferences as well as opportunities anywhere that place you
facing outward in the public eye.

The ACA conference is a wonderful conference & opportunity to present &
network & even sending in the proposal is a learning experiences. I have
attended this conference & presented there several times & the contacts you
can make are invaluable. I'm curious, is anyone presenting there this year?
FYI, their proposals for the next year are usually due in early June, so now
would be the time to begin to prepare if you are interested.

Also, letting our PR Chair, Christina Devereaux know when & where you are
presenting helps ADTA keep track as well as identify your extended interests
& ability to network with these groups. This can be helpful in advocacy on
many levels.

Also, letting the listserve know, helps us all recognize your efforts & may
even encourage others to risk increasing their own efforts in this regard.

ADTA Listserve Respondent.

Subject: [Adta] Getting the Word Out!

When dance therapists present workshops at National Conferences for other
organizations, it's a great way to get the word out about dance therapy to a
broader audience! Many of us would like to know if our dance therapy
colleagues have recently or have plans for the near future to present at a
National Conference. For example, the American Counseling Association
Convention is coming up soon in Detroit March 21-25 (in 2008 it will be in
Hawaii, no less!) -- are you, or do you know if any of your dance therapy
colleagues are planning to present in Detroit? Let us know if you are
getting the word out to other organizations via conference presentations.
ADTA would like to celebrate and support you!
