Thank you Robyn for sharing this news with the listserve.

I would like to share a bit re my experiences with Pat through the year . I
would like others to know about the special contributions Pat made to ADTA &
hope the others will write in also.

I'll wait till tomorrow, however because I need to digest this information.

Subject: [Adta] IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON ADTA OFFICE

Dear ADTA Members,

Pat Gardner, ADTA Office Manager, retired from her service to ADTA Friday
Feb. 2, 2007. Pat worked for ADTA for around 30 years and was a real
mainstay of the organization. Some might say that over the years she "held
the center" of ADTA, and I believe that the consistency she offered in the
National Office benefitted ADTA over the years. If you attended a conference
in recent history, you encountered Pat at the registration desk with a big
glass of iced tea at her elbow -- most of the time she called you by name or
knew where you lived if you told her your name.

I believe the decision to enter a new phase of life without ADTA was not an
easy one for her to make, and in discussing this with her, she stated that
she wanted no fanfare or tributes "I don't like that type of thing," she
told me.

I do think that Pat might, however, enjoy hearing from some of us. Feel
free to send cards or notes to her at the National Office address. We will
make sure that they are forwarded on to her.

Gloria Farrow remains in the ADTA office ready and willing to assist with
all member business. You can contact Gloria by regular mail, phone, or with
either of these email addresses: info at adta.org or gloria at adta.org.

I know ADTA Members and the Board of Directors wish Pat Gardner a fond
farewell and a big thanks for her years of service!
