Antioch University New England is pleased to offer Alternative Route Drama
Therapy training for students enrolled in the Masters Program in
Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling. Students may now acquire up to 85%
of academic credits required for Alternative Training as defined by the
National Association for Drama Therapy, simply by completing coursework in
the Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling degree program. Students may use
these hours to pursue eventual certification as a registered drama
therapist, and may utilize internship hours from their second and third
year Antioch internships as drama therapy internships. Antioch will also
offer three day drama therapy intensives to allow students to accrue
additional hours, and the drama therapy advisor will collaborate with them
to assure that the remainder of credits and requirements are met. This new
offering is supervised by Kim Burden, LCMHC, ADTR, RDT/BCT, CP, LCAT,
Adjunct Faculty and Drama Therapy Advisor at Antioch. Antiochs program
allows students to acquire training hours that apply to registry as both
Dance/movement therapists and Drama therapists. Additionally, the program
fulfils credit requirements for licensure in most states. For more
information, contact Kim Burden at [ mailto:Kimberley_burden at antiochne.edu
