Hi Suzy!

Thats terrifc!

I've do quite a few interviews & they're always unique. Sometime, they'll
give you a list of questions in advance. Other times, not.

One thing I like to do is have short "soundbite" statements that I can use
to describe d/mt- why it's impt for the particular people I'm working with,
etc. I like to use dance/movement therapy ( for name recognition re what we
do) & to give them the info that I know they're looking for.

They ( or you) said: "A substantial amount of screen time will be devoted
to images of creativity in action. Our HD cameras will linger on our
artists totally absorbed in the creative process-on their hands, their
faces, and, of course, samples of their work. This program will have
enormous visual appeal, with little need for an abundance of talking heads."

So, you would want to attune to your group as well as keep in mind the
objectives they are looking for.

I'm sure it will be terrific & since it will be shown nationally, I'll look
forward to seeing it.

Thanks so much for talking about this on the listserve & don't forget to let
us know how it goes.

Susan

This all happened so fast and I would like to hear feedback from anyone who
has experience with interviews.

Thank you,

A video shoot to occur at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital (
<http://www.tsrhc.org/> www.tsrhc.org) in Dallas, TX on March 1, 2007
featuring the work of Suzy Rossol Matheson, MA, ADTR, NCC during the
hospital's 6 week 'Adaptive Dance' program for children with disabilities.
This program is a collaboration with Texas Scottish Rite Hospital and The
Dance Council of North Texas. ( <http://www.thedancecouncil.org/>
www.dancecouncil.org) The name of the show is The Art of Living, a 26-part
series that will air nationwide beginning this winter on New Leaf TV, a
network devoted to healthy lifestyles and wellness. The program is based on
the belief that self-expression and the pleasures we derive from artistic
pursuits are integral to a balanced life. See more information about the
show below:

The Art of Living

Through a painting we can see the whole world. --Hans Hofmann

Art delights our senses, stirs our emotions, and affirms our humanity. It
allows us to speak to each other across the barriers of time and language,
revealing thoughts and feelings that everyday words cannot convey. Artists
reveal hidden truths and renew our passion for life.

The Art of Living will explore the ways in which artistic creation bestows a
unique kind of joy that enriches life and gives it greater meaning. This is
not simply a series about artists, or works of art, or art appreciation. It
is about the ways in which creative self-expression inspires us, sparks our
imagination, and makes us feel connected and complete.

The Art of Living will showcase artists and their works, but, more
importantly, it will bring the creative process to life. Viewers will gain a
deeper understanding of the forces that motivate and inspire artistic
expression. Our aim is to create an entertaining series of programs that
gives viewers a glimpse of how the arts bring beauty, fulfillment and
happiness into peoples lives.

A substantial amount of screen time will be devoted to images of creativity
in action. Our HD cameras will linger on our artists totally absorbed in
the creative processon their hands, their faces, and, of course, samples of
their work. This program will have enormous visual appeal, with little need
for an abundance of talking heads.

The series will profile not only professional artists, but also
non-professionals whose artistic pursuits bring the very same personal
rewards that professionals receive from their artistic self-expression. Each
half-hour program will include three segments: a profile of a professional
artist, a profile of a non-professional artist, and a spotlight on a
community arts program. We want to inspire and motivate viewers to make the
arts a part of their lives.
