Subject: [Adta] Research action update - Bibliographies project

	Announcing the

	Dance/Movement Therapy

	Bibliographies Project

	Everyone can help out!!!

In response to a call from the membership on the ADTA listserv,
the Research Subcommittee has initiated a project to create updated and
comprehensive bibliographies of research and other literature on topics
of current interest.

The project has at least two functions and two stages:

Stage One: Lists of articles, books, chapters, theses and videos
on topics that members have identified as important to the current
practice and research in DMT will be gathered by designated "point"
people. When complete, these bibliographies will be posted on the
Research Resources pages of the ADTA website. This stage in itself will
support research in the field by providing easier access to specialized
bodies of literature. People doing literature reviews in preparation for
research will only have to refer to these bibliographies to get started.

Stage Two: From these bibliographies, shorter annotated lists of
those works that provide research or practice based evidence of DMT's
effectiveness or efficacy will be created. These will be made available
to the membership in the form of public relations materials to be used
for job development, grant applications, etc.

Point people for the following areas have generously agreed to
gather and organize references for Stage One:

	DMT & Eating disorders:

	Susan Kleinman skdmt2 at bellsouth.net

	DMT & Oncology:

	Sharon Epstein sharonepstein at mac.com

DMT & Forensics, (including aggression, violence and domestic
violence perpetrators)

	Naomi Nim NaomiN at starpower.net

	Andrea Olson andrea at andreaolson.com

	DMT & Dementia/Elderly:

	Heather Hill. heatherhill at hotkey.net.au

	           Christine Hopkins. dancingsmart at yahoo.com

	DMT Supervision:

	Leslie Armeniox. larmeniox at triad.rr.com

	DMT & Addictions:

	Corinna Brown. corinna.brown at gmail.com

	            DMT & Trauma:

David Alan Harris davidalanharrisma at yahoo.com

	            DMT in Education:

	            Maria Clausen mariaclausen at optonline.net

	Movement Assessment Tools:

	Nava Lotan. nava_lotan at yahoo.com

	Other Assessment Tools:

	Laura Downey. lmdowney at hotmail.com

	           Corinna Brown. corinna.brown at gmail.com

An essential part of Stage One depends on the easy and painless
participation of many: IF YOU HAVE ANY REFERENCES, REFERENCE LISTS,
BIBLIOGRAPHIES* (of articles, books, chapters, videos) ON THE ABOVE
TOPICS, please email them to the point people listed above. They can be
cut and pasted into emails or sent as attachments.

*We are not asking you to send complete articles, etc., just
complete references. A complete reference contains author name(s), date
of publication, title of the work, book or journal that it may have come
from, publisher and page numbers.

IF YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY USED AN ASSESSMENT TOOL, please send
complete information about it the people listed above, including where
to get it, how much it costs, who can use it, and how you used it.

STUDENTS & RECENT GRADS: Your reference lists from your theses
are especially valuable to this project, so send them in!!!!

PLEASE PASS THE WORD. We hope to complete this project in a
couple of months.

Updates will be posted on the listserv as we move toward Stage
Two. Keep your eye out for postings from point people too.

Thank you to everyone who has supported and participated in this
endeavor so far. Please contact me if you have any questions or would
like to be a point person for your favorite DMT topic.
