[Adta] Dance/Movement Therapy Internship Fall 2007

Hi everyone,

I would like to start the new year off by inviting those of you in need of an internship to consider spending some time here in the Washington, DC area. I work at Dominion Hospital, which is a small, private psychiatric hospital in Falls Church, Virginia. We are a short term, acute care setting, serving the needs of children, adolescents and adults. We provide both in-patient and out-patient services. I was originally hired as a dance/movement therapist ... back in the early 90's ... but have since had my title changed to expressive therapist, so that my work now includes a variety of approaches, and is not limited to movement. The internship would therefore include some exposure and experience facilitating groups involving the various modalities, i.e.. art, music, drama, poetry. Movement, however, would be the primary focus. It is feasible to begin the internship as early as July, 2007.

I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you more about the specifics of the internship and to answer any questions you might have. I currently am working with 2 graduate students from the Antioch program, and have had past experience with both the Pratt and Columbia programs as well. My current interns would also be available to share their experiences with you as well. I look forward to hearing from you.
