I am recommending a book on which I had the privilege to be an early reader. The publisher imposed title (which I don't like) is "The New Rules of Posture, How to Sit, Stand, and Move in the Modern World" (Healing Arts Press ). It is an engrossing, entertaining self help book on body alignment and integration of functional movement and feeling, utilizing very new research and proven, easy to follow techniques. Mary Bond, the author, was a student of Alma Hawkins and Mary Whitehouse who trained intensively with Ida Rolf and many others in Structural Integration and related work. She has been working with clients in that field also utilizing movement and some deep massage etc. for almost forty years. She was a housemate of Diane Fletcher and myself when we were grad students at UCLA and has been a close friend of mine ever since. Her warmth and caring in "sharing the experience of embodiment with others...my life's mission" is reflected in the in the vignettes which enliven the lessons she presents. This is her second book. I used her first book "Balancing your Body" in workshops with adults just ten years ago, but Mary tells me it is out of date. This book is for your clients, or perhaps a little for yourselves, but not a textbook or training manual.
