I am forwarding the message which summarizes our time at the B&P hearing yesterday. I wish I had better news to share. I am just trying to keep my frustration with the whole process in check.
Despite all the work we have done and all the support and negotiating we've done in the last year, it was as if we were in our first year with AAMFT reps misrepresenting the bill, and Senator Yee (a school psychologist from the Bay area and the author of the report which sites the mental health care provider shortage in Calif.) calling the bill "the dumbing down" of therapy. Specialties were again singled-out and guess who was first on the list! We needed more time with Senators, as the Calif.Psychology lobby (CPA) was big.
As Dean states below, it's not over which is the good news.
