[Adta] Tamalpa Institute's Self Portrait Workshop

Hi all,

If anyone ever has the opportunity to take one Tamalpa's trainings
should do so. I had the great honor to study with Anna for a yearlong
intensive in the Life Art Process. It was a life changing experience
which continues to deeply inform my life and work. It really felt like
that training prepared me to go on and become a dance/movement
therapist. I also wanted to say that I know Jaime and he is a very
sensitive and astute therapist - anyone able to attend his Self-portrait
workshop will be forever changed and their sense of being "able to draw"
will be forever expanded.
Seeing Jaime's announcement brought back some wonderful memories.

	Self Portraits

In each one of us lives a story, a palette of images and experiences
stored in our muscles and bones, organs and body parts. This workshop
will engage participants in creative dialogues with their personal
stories focusing on the experience and expression of the body. Through
movement, drawing and poetry, participants will tap into a stream of
symbolic and metaphoric images to explore current life themes and
questions in an open and imaginative process. This approach allows new
experiences and perspectives to emerge and invites positive change and
action in our lives. This workshop culminates with the creation of a
self-portrait, which is used as the basis for a final enactmet
symbolizing the embodiment of a new vision of self to bring to one's
daily life.

	Jaime Nisenbaum, REAT, Ph.D. (candidate) is an associate
professor at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in San
Francisco, adjunct faculty at Tamalpa Institute, and a Registered
Expressive Arts Therapist. He has lectured in several universities and
is a contributing author to the book The Body Can Speak.
