Forwarding this publishing opportunity. Here's a chance for the experts to
define what the creative arts therapies are, assessment instruments
developed by CATs, etc. These entries are usually short (< 1 page) so easy
to pull together and a great student project.

Subject: An invitation to publish in the ACA Encyclopedia of Counseling

>
> Colleagues:
>
> It is my pleasure to invite you to participate in a truly collaborative
> adventure. We are producing the first edition of the American Counseling
> Association Encyclopedia of Counseling , published by ACA with the hopes
> of
> becoming a signature project of the Association. At its core, this project
> is designed to bring together hundreds of professional counseling
> scholars,
> each contributing a piece of expertise, and culminating in a significant
> work that will benefit all professional counselors and counseling students
> - and, of course, you will receive credit for the publication in the
> process. What we are asking is for you to write a brief entry (minimum 1
> page and maximum 5 pages draft text) on a topic of your expertise that you
> select from the master topic index. Please contact any of the editors
> listed below to discuss (and select) available topics, your
> qualifications,
> and author guidelines. ALSO, please forward this message to counseling
> faculty colleagues or other counseling professionals who might be
> interested in lending their expertise and publishing in this book. Each
> author will be credited at the bottom of their text contribution and again
> in the "About the Authors" section of the book.
>
> The ACA Encyclopedia of Counseling is a totally volunteer project and ALL
> proceeds will benefit ACA. The single volume Encyclopedia (target = 1000
> pages) will feature information on important topics from the various
> branches of knowledge comprising the counseling profession, disaggregated
> into reasonable "chunks" of information on many hundreds of topics. The
> book will be a comprehensive reference manual serving to orient students
> to
> the profession and seasoned professional counselors who may require a desk
> reference for handy access to wide ranging and essential counseling
> information. It is our goal that the Encyclopedia will become a "must
> have"
> resource for every student and practitioner in the field; one that
> counselor educators will adopt for the counselor orientation course, as a
> general reference book for the counseling program, or as a study guide for
> students or professional counselors preparing for the National Counselor
> Exam .
>
> Please join this adventure and offer your expertise to this very
> worthwhile
> cause by contributing a brief entry. To explore the available topics,
> simply contact either myself or one of the content area editors listed
> below in your primary area of interest. As always, I will be happy to
> answer any questions you might have about the project ( berford at loyola.edu
> or 410.617.1509). Thank you for all that you continue to do for the
> counseling profession.
