RECONSIDERING THE LABAN/LAMB LEGACY: 7 CREATIVE
MOVEMENT CONCEPTS
St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota
July 5 8 , 2007
This Symposium explores the Laban/Lamb legacy through
practical movement and observation workshops and
theoretical discussions.
The Symposium opens Thursday evening with a festive
banquet and keynote address by psychologist, Dr. David
Bauer. Over the next 2 ½ days a rich program is
offered, including the following.
World-famous consultant Warren Lamb, who collaborated
closely with Rudolf Laban in the application of
movement analysis in behavioral study, will lead
master movement classes exploring effort flow and
shape flow, effort and shape qualities, effort-shape
affinities, and group movement patterns.
Qualified Movement Pattern Analysts from the U.S. and
Europe will offer small group tutorials in the
identification of Integrated Movement, a core creative
concept coming from the Laban/Lamb Legacy.
Presenters from the U.S., England, Denmark, and
Germany will discuss applications of this body of
knowledge in management of human resources, education,
career counseling, therapy, and choreographic
practice.
Symposium events will take place on the pastoral
campus of St. Olaf College, outside Minneapolis.
Affordable on-campus room and board packages are
available.
Registration packets and further details regarding the
Symposium will be available in mid-April. Stay tuned
