This June, we are honored to welcome Colin and Niall Campbell, Sangomas 
from Botswana, Southern Africa to the Blue Deer Center. During their 
five day workshop, we will explore and learn about the cosmology and 
healing practices of the indigenous traditions of Southern Africa and 
see how that fits into our daily lives.

While exploring the interface between us and nature, Colin and Niall 
will lead us in:
• looking at our place in relationship to the world
• studying nature and looking at how life is interwoven with nature, 
the spirits of nature, the ancestors
• teaching the traditional way of viewing the world and how it is put 
together:
  how did the universe come into being? And how does this inform us in 
our modern context?
• participating in and learning ancestral ceremonies and rituals
• experiencing the role of music and dance as the fundamental 
underpinning of spirituality
• exploring the role of the traditional medicine (plant medicine) and 
the relationships with
  plants and animals
• spending solo time in nature to connect with the ancestors, spirits, 
and nature
