Hello to all:
When I went to Hahnemann, I had to do an inservice as part of a requirement
of a class I took. I can't recall which class (we had so many and it was
back in 1989!), but I know that I created the inservice myself and presented to
students of the High School for Creative and Performing Arts in Philly. At
the time, we did not have the great PR materials that we have now at our
disposal, but it was a good experience that forced me to figure out how to
articulate what dmt is.
In terms of the conference, I have mostly pleasant thoughts about it,
especially making connections with people I don't get to see very often. I also
thought the workshops balanced information that was useful for the beginning
and the advanced clinician. Unfortunately, I continue to be disappointed by
small examples of "unprofessionalism" that I see in the hotel. On two
occassions, I saw people walking through the hotel without shoes or with only socks,
and not just in our little workshop areas - I'm talking throughout the hotel
in very public areas. I know it may seem like a little thing, but for a
profession that lacks recognition in soooo many parts of the world, we need to
be extra vigilant and use the conference as an opportunity to inform the
public about who we are. Colleagues that represent us in the most professional of
ways can only enhance the work that we all do.
All my best,
Adina Rosenberg, MCAT, ADTR, LPC, NCC
