Still Time to Register for Seminar and Dance Alliance Annual Meeting
What: Register for ADTA and Dance Alliance Seminar on November 4th.
Where: URI Providence/80 Washington Street Plenty of on-the-street parking
When: Sunday, November 4th beginning at 8:30 (Don't forget that Saturday
night is when we switch back to Eastern Standard Time)
How: e-mail, snail mail or phone (see below)
Who: The Seminar is opened to teachers, dancers, dance/movement therapists,
physical educators, special education teachers, clinicians.
The Seminar will be followed by the annual Dance Alliance Meeting and Pot
Luck lunch.
Schedule:
8:30 - Registration
9:00 - 10:15 - Dance/Movement Therapy for Children with Cancer and Special
Needs
Presented by Sharon Mulcahy, MA, MS ADTR Focus will be on how
dance movement therapy can be and is used in school situations as well as
clinical situations
10:30 - 11:45 - Prevention of Dance Injury
Presented by Jennifer Davis MA PT Clinical Director of RI
Rehabilitation, Providence RI, East Side location
Fee: $30 includes both sessions. Certificates of Professional
Development Points can be issued per request
11:45 - 2:00 - Dance Alliance Annual Meeting
Join with current DA members to help envision the year ahead
while sharing a lunch. Bring a dish to share and DA will provide paper goods
and tableware, and water.
**** 2:00 - Join the young dancers as they perform to raise money for
Dreasdream Foundation and Dance Alliance Scholarships - Pfaff Auditorium -
same building. Tickets are $10 with an immediate family cap of $30. Bring
friends and relatives to support the performers and the worthy causes.
