It's almost here! An Introduction to Dance/movement Therapy!

Learn about the profession of dance/movement therapy from a seasoned professional with over 25 years experience. Participate in a training experiences designed to simulate the experience of dance/movement therapy. Watch videotapes of actual sessions.

This workshop is open to all and discounted for students with a valid college/university ID.



November 1, 2007                 10-4 PM          Introduction to Dance/movement Therapy

 

This 6 hour workshop will combine didactic and experiential learning to provide an overview of the Dance/movement Therapy profession. The workshop will include group movement experiences, case studies, information about educational and employment opportunities, handouts, and a list of references. If you are interested in Dance/movement therapy as a career, this workshop will provide knowledge and information to help you make an informed decision. 

 

§         Open to all. 

§         $75/$40 students with valid university ID.

§         6 continuing education credits provided.

§         Pre-registration required.

 

 

November 1- 3          10-4 PM daily             Dance/movement Therapy Theory I, Part 1

 

This is the first or starter course offered in the Alternate Route Certificate Program offered by the Center for Creative Counseling. In addition to the overview provided on day 1, we will discuss historical, cultural, social, and psychological foundations of the Dance/movement therapy profession; goals and applications of Dance/movement therapy across a broad range of settings; and the work of Marian Chace and the Chacian Approach to Dance/movement Therapy. Lecture, group discussion, and experiential learning will be used to facilitate understanding of Dance/movement therapy as a primary and adjunctive treatment approach. Completion of assignments is required in order to receive alternate route credit. Certificate of CEUs provided for those seeking continuing education credits for professional development.

 

§         Open to human service professionals and students. 

§         $300 if payment received on or before October 1, 2007/$350 if payment received after October 1, 2007. 

§         Students with a valid university ID will receive a 10% discount on payments received before October 1.

§         You must pre-register in order to attend.
